NB-IoT is a low bandwidth and low power consumption networking provided by telecom service providers. The NuMaker IoT M487 uses the Arduino interface with the partner’s NB-IoT expansion board to implement NB-IoT networking capabilities. The NB-IoT expansion board is RAK WisLink Cellular which uses Quectel BG96 module to provide NB-IoT connectivity. Build on non-OS, Mbed™ OS, Amazon FreeRTOS, or AliOS Things software platforms, it supports CoAP, MQTT, HTTPS and other communication protocols to connect to cloud services such as Arm Pelion, Amazon IoT Service, or Alibaba Cloud. Utilizing the computing power of NuMicro M487, collecting and calculating sensing data for analysis, obtaining reduced result and transmitting them to the cloud via NB-IoT; or be a light-weighted gateway to transfer data between Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and NB-IoT networks. The board is equipped 9-axis motion sensor, audio codec, external SPI flash and microSD card slot and other expansion interfaces to provide convenient and rapid development platform for IoT applications.
