How many slaves can join the LIN bus?

The protocol of LIN bus includes 6 bits of identifier field to indicate the length of the following data and what message the slave responds to.
In other words, there are 64 identifiers sorted in 4 groups of 16 messages.
Slaves must be designed to respond to one or more messages; as a result, the maximum number of slaves in the LIN bus is 16.
