Nuvoton NuMaker Tomato is a single board computer (SBC) with simple layout. It adopts the developer-friendly open source environment, and runs on the Linux operating system. It is embedded with the 32-bit ARM926EJ-S NUC976DK62Y processor core which runs up to 300 MHz. The Tomato includes the NAU8822 Audio Codec, making it especially suitable for audio processing. It also comes with a built-in 64MB DDR2 RAM, and offers a comprehensive and rich selection of interfaces including the 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, Micro SD port, microphone input, and 3.5 mm headphone jacks. The Tomato also supports two sets of USB 2.0 high-speed host devices and Arduino compatible pins. The NuMaker Tomato is the perfect solution for makers to create various types of customized Internet of Things (IoT) applications.

The NuMaker Tomato can easily connect to the Internet via the Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi through a USB Dongle. Network connection is also possible via various RF modules and built-in SPI/I²C interfaces, which makes Tomato particularly suitable for IoT-related applications such as the IoT gateway, router/mini-servers, Smart Homes, security systems, and cloud jukeboxes.

Tomato’s software elements include a Linux operating system with plenty of open source codes that users can download and utilize. The pre-installed uBoot allows Tomato to execute Linux Kernel OS by loading it into its DDR. Tomato also supports Python interpreters, allowing users to generate scripts and program codes directly without the need of a compiler.
